Retail deductions
Walmart and Target deduction review
For suppliers selling to Walmart or Target. I match every deduction against your paperwork, give each one a verdict, and prepare dispute files for the invalid ones. You submit them.
The retailer deducts first. Proving it wrong is up to you.
A deduction comes out of your payment before anyone checks it. Not every deduction is valid, and the ones that are not only come back if someone disputes them with proof.
- A shortage on a delivery that was signed for in full.
- A price cut taken after a cost increase was approved.
- An allowance taken above the agreed rate.
- A compliance fine your shipping records do not support.
Every deduction has a dispute window, and they close.
Once a window closes, that money is gone, valid or not. The windows below come from published supplier guides, not from Walmart or Target directly, so always check the date shown in your portal for each deduction.
- Walmart shortage deductions: generally 12 months in APDP.
- Most other Walmart AP deductions: generally 24 months.
- Target compliance chargebacks: about 3 months on domestic orders and 6 months on imports.
- Most other Target deductions: up to 18 months in Synergy.
- Your deduction report, exported from APDP or Synergy.
- The purchase orders and invoices behind each deduction.
- Bills of lading and signed proof of delivery.
- Cost change approvals or allowance agreements, if a deduction involves price or allowances.
- Every deduction marked invalid, valid, partial or missing proof.
- Dispute files for the invalid ones, ready for APDP, Synergy or your buyer.
- An honest note on the valid ones, so you do not waste a dispute.
- If the same deductions keep coming, a monthly check that flags them early. How that works

Common questions
Do you need my Retail Link, APDP or Synergy login?
No. You export the report and the documents and email them to me. I never log in to your retailer portals.
Will you talk to my buyer or the retailer for me?
No. I prepare the dispute files and you submit them. I never negotiate on your behalf.
Do you cover OTIF and other compliance fines?
Yes, if you want them included. Tell me when you send the report.
What about other retailers?
Right now the review covers Walmart and Target only.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how many deductions there are. Send the report and I will tell you what the review would cost before any work starts.
Send me your deduction report.
Email it to nazmul@zenmul.com. I will tell you which deductions are worth disputing and which are not.
